October

Besides Halloween we had a lot of fun stuff happen in October. Brad was busy as usual on an internal medicine rotation and I was busy with taking pictures. But whenever we had a chance to get away we did. We went to Woodburn and found this great pumpkin patch.  It had all the typical pumpkin type of stuff but it also had a paintball cannon, potato cannon, and a huge PUMPKIN CANNON that was totally awesome. I don't know who had more fun, Brad or Maven.

Maven is currently obsessed with airplanes. He is constantly flying one whether it's a toy, his hand pretending to be an airplane or a paper airplane. He can hear them from forever away and has to stop wherever we are until he sees it. It's getting a little frustrating with this overcast weather because he can hear them but rarley do we see them.  Brad got him this little airplane from a hobby store and whenever we get a chance we take it out flying. Maven LOVES it.

I'm sure a lot of other stuff happened but when you get as far behind as me on the blog that stuff goes missing.

More of September

Since I am constantly trying to catch up on this blog I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. It's been so much fun hanging out with my two year old. Brad had a crazy busy month working in surgery and putting in some extremely long hours but we took advantage of every second we had with him to celebrate our birthdays. That's right Maven isn't the only one that has a birthday in September. I turned 27 on September 12 and Brad turned 31 on September 17. It was a busy month but tonz of fun.

Maven Turns 2

Maven turned TWO on September 6, 2012. It was a fun day. Grandma Geddes was able to make a trip out to visit. She did a good job of spoiling all of us but mostly Maven. On Maven's birthday we woke up at 5:00AM. Yeah I'm a crazy mom that woke her kid up early on his birthday but it was the only time he would see Brad before he left to work. We had Birthday Confetti Pancakes for breakfast and opened a few presents.  We spent the day our on the town and playing with the train set he got from Grandma Oliverson. And of course we took naps to prepare for the birthday party. Instead of making a cake we opted for Maven's favorite things...COOKIES. We had a cookies and milk birthday party. It included LOTS and LOTS of cookies and lots of friends.  Brad got home just in time to celebrate with us. And of course Maven had to blow out a candle so we got a cupcake for him.

Maven is such a fun 2 year old. I love this stage. Most days I think I'm going to go crazy I'm so exhausted just trying to keep up with the boy but he constantly makes me laugh at the things he comes up with. And he does try to clean up after himself when he spills. He is the cutes when he says "Sorry Mommy" So it's impossible to stay mad. He LOVES to climb.  We'll give credit to the awesome rock wall he has. I'll post more videos on that later. He is all muscle's which puts him in the 10th percentile for weight and 50% for height and head circumference. I don't know what I would do without this amazing little guy. It kills Brad that he can't spend more time with us but he does his best and we take advantage of every moment he has off.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone...I actually feel like I've got a post up at the appropriate time.  I still have lots of pictures to post from September but we are getting there. This year my creativity for Maven's costume came from pinterest and me not wanting to buy anything. I apologize if Maven's "Homeless" costume offends anyone. I didn't think about that I was just thinking about the sweet tooth he inherited from me and his long scraggly hair.

August 2012

The highlight of August was having family out to visit for the first time. Brad's brother Mark brought his family out to the coast and we were able to join them for a few days. And Grandma and Grandpa Oliverson joined as well. They even came a few days before to spend some time with us. We spent a lot of time on the beach. Maven LOVES playing in the waves despite the freezing cold temperature. We also went to the aquarium and walked around the bay.
