Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone...I actually feel like I've got a post up at the appropriate time.  I still have lots of pictures to post from September but we are getting there. This year my creativity for Maven's costume came from pinterest and me not wanting to buy anything. I apologize if Maven's "Homeless" costume offends anyone. I didn't think about that I was just thinking about the sweet tooth he inherited from me and his long scraggly hair.

August 2012

The highlight of August was having family out to visit for the first time. Brad's brother Mark brought his family out to the coast and we were able to join them for a few days. And Grandma and Grandpa Oliverson joined as well. They even came a few days before to spend some time with us. We spent a lot of time on the beach. Maven LOVES playing in the waves despite the freezing cold temperature. We also went to the aquarium and walked around the bay.

July 2012

July seems like a blur. Brad was busy working and Maven and I were adjusting to him being gone a lot and working nights. So even when he was home he was trying to get a few hours of sleep in. Maven and I visited parks around Corvallis. Turns out there are a lot of awesome parks here. We also met some new friends and celebrated the 4th of July.

June 2012

In June we officially left Utah/Idaho and moved to Corvallis OR. Before Brad's hectic first year of residency started we took advantage of some amazing stuff around Corvallis.

Before we left we got together with the cousins. Maven got to ride in his Uncle's jeep and he was thrilled. He LOVES jeeps. He still points them out every time we see one.

Maven didn't realize how devastated he would be when he was no longer surrounded by cousins, and grandparents. Just Maven and Mom most the day.

For fathers day weekend we went to Silver Falls State Park. It was incredible. We did the 8 mile hike and saw 10 amazing waterfalls.

We were also able to visit the coast while my parents were here. I already posted about that but I didn't post this panoramic shot.

May 2012

After our week in Salmon ID we sent Maven home with Grandma and Grandpa Oliverson and we continued our road trip to Corvallis OR looking for housing. I didn't take too many pictures since most of our time was spent searching for a place to live, but I did catch this beauty of Brad.

Everytime we drove up the lane to my parents Maven got to drive. He LOVED this part of the drive from Smithfield to Banida.

I don't know what this was all about but it was funny enough to post.

Once back in Banida we got busy doing some work for my dad. Here is Maven helping Brad out.

My dad put Brad on monument/rock duty. We were able to finish some names on the War Memorial in Preston.

And then we were on the road again. This time we traveled by plane to Des Moines IA for Brad's graduation.  What 20 month old doesn't LOVE running back and forth on the moving side walk...he didn't always go the right direction, but it made our layover go by fast.

While in Des Moines we went to visit the governors mansion. I can't believe Brad and I lived one block from this place for two years and never once did we go visit. I don't think we fully took advantage of Des Moines like we have all the other places we've lived and visited since.

And of course the reason for going to Des Moines was to see Brad graduate. I'm so proud of his hard work and accomplishments. Everyone talks about how hard medical school is.  I don't disagree Brad worked extremely hard and put in a lot of time but we had some incredible experiences along the way and  encountered some amazing people. I will always remember Medical School as a great experience for both of us.  Hopefully we have just as good of experience in residency...I'll get to that in later catching up posts.

We got back to Presto in time for memorial day so I was able to grab a quick shot of the War Memorial Brad worked so hard on with the flags out.

Sadly catching up on posts just turns into a lot of random stuff and not any good details. Sorry it's just a long boring travel log.

April 2012

On the weekends we usually went to Banida to hang out with my family. When Brad got a few extra minutes he would go work on this bike trail behind my parents house. Here are some pictures of Ryland and Brad testing out the trail. Luckily Brad recognizes that he has a family and isn't as young as he used to be and has toned down his riding just a tad. I can't say the same for Ryland and since then he has had a biking accident and wont be riding like this until next year.

When Brad's rotations finished we took some time to visit his brother in Salmon Idaho. This was the first stop on our road trip to Oregon.

Maven and Aidan were so proud of their matching monkey pajamas.

We spent one afternoon on a hike enjoying the beautiful Salmon area.

Back in Preston we got to get together with some of my cousin's and their kids.  We were trying to get this gem of a play house ready to paint. I don't know how much we actually accomplished but it was fun either way. This play house was built by my great grandpa in 1907. I wont go into details about the amazing history of this playhouse but it sure has a lot of memories for me and my family.

After all the hard work my grandpa pulled out the trailer for the kids and took them to the park.

Maven was hiding in the back
