Delicious
Brad and I stopped at La Mie bakery on our way to Omaha Saturday morning. It was incredible. It brought back so many memories of those delicious Pasticcerie I found in Italy. So many amazing things to choose from. I can't believe I've lived in Des Moines over a year and I am just now discovering it's deliciousness. So if anyone feels like going to La Mie, I will be more than willing to tag along.

Cooking
The other day I was browsing the internet for something completely unrelated to cooking when I saw this picture.

Of course knowing me anytime I see something that looks so delicious I want it.
So I explored the website and I love it. Not just the cookie bar recipe but everything.
http://mykitchencafe.blogspot.com
There are so many recipes and all of them come with pictures from the kitchen of someone who has tried it and has a few tips for the recipe.
This is making me hungry so I'm going to go make some Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars.

A Tribute to Gussy Geddes
1994-2010 The Best Dog Ever
It's amazing how these crazy animals sneak their way into our hearts until they are a part of the family and a huge part of our lives.
She had some way of knowing as soon as I got my running shoes out and she wouldn't leave my side until she knew she was coming with me. I would run along the canal so she could jump in and swim every once in a while. She was the best running partner.
Not being around today when Gus died made me just a little homesick. I knew she wasn't doing well and I wanted to pet her so bad. It's hard to explain the attachment we get to these animals. I don't think Brad understands since he never had one. I believe in the statement "a dog is a man's best friend."
I'll miss you GUSSY GIRL thanks for being my dog.

Visitors from IDAHO
My dad comes out to visit us in Iowa at least once a year because of Ag Leader in Ames but it is always in the winter. I'm not a very good tour guide especially during a crazy Iowa winter but we had a good time. This was Mary's first visit and she loved it.They had class during the day so we tried to have as much fun as possible at night. Wednesday Mary helped me with my scout class. Thursday we took dad to the Bass Pro Shop. (this is similar to cabella's) Friday we went shopping and took my dad to Sherlock Holmes. (he hates all movies)
It was short but fun.

The next adventure
Brad claims I'm a nomad who loves change...looking at my record I have no way of arguing that. Since graduating high school I haven't done a very good job at staying in one place.
June 2003 - Rexburg, ID
January 2004 - Cuenca, Ecuador
June 2004 - Rexburg, ID I actually stayed long enough this time to finish some school
December 2005 - Banida, ID
March 2006 - Rexburg, ID
April 2006 - EUROPE
June 2006 - Rexburg, ID for the last time
September 2006 - ITALY Bergamo, Modena, Milano
April 2008 - Banida, ID
August 2008 - Homeless in Mesa AZ
January 2009 - Des Moines, IA
August 2010 - Casper, WY
That's right...if you made it all the way through that boring list you hopefully noticed that Brad and I will be moving to Casper WY for his third year rotations.
We were lucky enough to get our first choice. We will now be in the same time zone as our parents, have a ski resort within 15 minutes, see mountains outside our window and lets not forget, be in a place where Brad will get excellent hand on experience.
There is a down side to almost all changes...we will miss our friends here in Des Moines. We've loved the time we've spent here and hope we will love Casper just as much.
